Based in Sheffield, Winchester Gears are Land Rover drivetrain specialists, supplying everything from replacement components to highly customised gearboxes, transfer boxes, differentials and axle assemblies to customers worldwide. Our brief was to create a website that reflected this specialist expertise while making an extensive and technically complex product range much easier for customers to explore, configure and order online.
Central to the website was the development of a bespoke online configurator, designed and built to simplify the process of specifying highly customised drivetrain components. Customers can choose from axles, gearboxes, transfer boxes and differentials, then fine-tune each option to build a solution that meets their exact requirements.
As selections are made, the configurator guides customers through the relevant technical options and builds their specification, transforming what could otherwise be a complicated ordering process into a clear and intuitive online experience. Once complete, customers can choose to pay in full or secure their custom build with a deposit, providing greater flexibility when placing higher-value orders.
Alongside the configurator, e2 media developed a full WooCommerce online shop for Winchester Gears' standard parts and components, bringing bespoke builds and off-the-shelf products together within one ecommerce platform. The website also accommodates Trade customers, providing an integrated online experience for both retail and trade business.
Built using WordPress CMS and WooCommerce, with the bespoke configurator seamlessly integrated, the finished website provides Winchester Gears with a flexible and scalable platform that can develop alongside the business.
